At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and residential structures in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were anticipating further attacks.
